DJ Tiiny sacked by Capital Xtra for taking payola, issues an apology
The official tour DJ for Stormzy and DJ presenter on Capital XTRA, DJ Tiiny has been dropped by the station after he was reported to be taking £200 to play songs on his weekly radio show.
Tiiny had been broadcasting on Capital Xtra since 2018, presenting a Friday night show that presented a mix of hip-hop, R&B and grime.
Born, Frank Boakye-Yiadom, DJ Tiiny’s wrong deeds came to when he had written to a producer demanding money in exchange for putting his song on the air.
Producer J Beatz Music, posted a screenshot of an email purportedly written by the DJ on his Twitter.
“If you wish for the track to be premiered on my Friday night radio show, there would be a charge of £200 for one track,” “This would also include keeping the track within my radio playlist for 2 weeks.” the email said.
So I did a mail out of my new track coming out and look at what this DJ is telling me!

After the story went viral, DJ Tiiny was removed from Capital Xtra’s schedule and his profile was deleted from their website.
The Ghanaian DJ has apologised saying he has learnt a much-needed lesson and that he is sorry to those he has let down. He posted:
